You can also include bots in the crew in addition to the actual players. Even thought they are not as capable as a good human player, they can help you take care of many of the routine tasks while the human players handle more challenging tasks.
So after 2 hours it gets to hard to play without more players?
you have to host a server if you want multiplayer, but after 2 hours we are not able to set it up good luck with it.
Nice one, thanks. Going to watch a few more videos of people playing if I can convince my buddies to like it we'll all jump in. For a co-op game you might want to look at making something like a pack with the game and 3 gifts of the game for a better discount. Unless it means you have the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of key re-sellers?
Like if you buy a 4 pack then it works out about £15 per key rather than £18 or 21 or whatever. Would make it easier for me to convince my lot. But I understand if key re-sellers will just ♥♥♥♥ all over that idea
It would be awesome if you could do that for the near future because it could allow for more people to play the game. However, I hope it doesn't become that "I'll pay you with exposure!" thing that goes on sometimes. Either way, keep up the good work and please keep posting on the community, every post helps us.
Anyways, the game can be played with just 3 people and personally that's a good number for some ships like the 'Ocean Glider' or the 'Dugong' as they're easy to operate.
So currently if you want to use the server list or Steam ID authentication, you need to be logged into Steam and have the Steam client running. There is also the option to disable Steam authentication, although it may be risky because it means you cannot ban people based on their Steam ID and it's very easy for trolls/griefers to evade bans by changing their IP. But if you do wish to disable it, you can do it by editing a file called "config_player.xml" inside the game folder, and changing "requiresteamauthentication" to "false".
Hello Regalis, yes we have read the manual.
We connect via IP address and receive the following error
REQUEST_STEAMAUTH
Disconnected unauthenticated client (Steam ID: Steam authentication failed.)
thank for considering and looking into that option. I can say myself as a gamer for over 30 years that my gamer friends who I know in real life and have known for decades tend to discuss the next game we want to get into before we agree to play it. Of course single player games are cool, but we like co-op, IMHO I think 3-4 player co-op games are the future, maybe up to 8 players max. That way it's intense, personal yet friendship building.
What will your next game be? I played a game called DARKWOOD recently. And OMG, that should be a co-op game. Please go check it out and come up with a way to make a similar yet different game with a taste of that in it's maw.
There is still so much work to do on Barotrauma that I think it's too early to start thinking about my next game. :) But in any case, thanks for the tip, I'll check out Darkwood!
