At second: Junction boxes have a chance to get damaged if you have way more energy output than you need for your net load.
Third: There should be an option on every machinery, or electrical device, which lets you adjust you the rate of wear off. I think you can set it to zero, if you want to. That should stop the automatically degrading of the stuff.
You can already set deterioration rate to 0 in the editor.
Yes, I was unprecise with my words. I know that it is already there. But I was not sure if it is really on EVERY single machine/device which is in the game. That was, what I was trying to say.
