Sarcasm aside, it's still played by those of us that don't have enough newer cards. But I really do think it's been hosed so badly by the card inflation ("power creep") of the newer cards that it wouldn't even be that great even if they undid all the nerfs against it.

"Hey... look at the tiny little 4000 ATK fusion monster... it's sooo cute!"(*)

* - And the Invoked fusion monsters don't even start destroying stuff with effects, not even when you target them.
meanwhile i play 35 games and only drop 4 of them with a "f2p-ish" ele-saber/invoked deck (aka no Fiendish Chains bc boring), winning against DM, Witchcrafter, CyDra, Crystrons, D/D/D, Fortune Ladies etc so once more this seems like a you problem.

I was actually refering to the recent "Grand" KC Cup since most people seem to agree that everything else, right up through and including KoG, is now pretty pointless as far as being a competition.

Did you qualify for Stage 2 will Elesabers, and if so, how high a rank (or "DP") did you get in the end of Stage 2 with them?

I believe the Elesabers were pretty common in the "Stage 1" list of cards, but quickly became a lot less popular in the list of cards in Stage 2 of the recent KC Cup.

When I played them in the Cup, the dominated below Dlv19, did ok to Dlv23/24, but seemed to be clearly outclassed by the Dlv25 decks, even on the last day of the cup. (I only played a non-trivial amount of games on about 2 days of the Cup if I remember correctly.)

In Dlv25, I kept getting hit with 5000+ Monsters and opponents playing 6 to 8 cards per turn. Unfortinately, I couldn't keep track of their decks because I'm not familiar enough with the recent cards to keep up with them in the timed games. But I was losing over 50% in Dlv25, and there didn't seem to by an strategies that would consistently win more than 50% in that environment.

Btw...are you calling it a "F2P" deck because of no Fiendish Chains? Or did it have any other cards missing that you think would have improved it? If you only call Fiendish Chain and Structured decks "Not F2P", then every deck other than the structured decks were "F2P" before Fiendish Chains came out. (Besides, I got lucky and got 1 Fiendish in my first 10 gem-bought packs.)

But at that level, mass-effect cards (Wall of Distruption, Reflecting Mirror and the like seemed to be better than Floodgate and Chains anyways. I think someone else said that too either above or in another thread from a couple of weeks ago or so.)

then make sure you point that out next time.

nope didn't play the KC Cup at all, why should i? If you really think that the KC Cup shows how competitive you deck is, it doesn't it just measures how much time you can waste, the only way to measure a decks ability to perform are tourneys, you don't play any tourneys tho at least i haven't seen you signing up for some and tourneys are so unlike KC Cup and ladder that you prob would lose with a tier 0 deck against a tier 3 deck bc side decks exist. (this is not meant as an insult btw)

well i know plenty of ppl who did play e-saber in stage 2 and got pretty far in both global and regional lists so no idea.

and yes well first i said "f2p-ish" not f2p but i did remove all cards that are SD/Selection Box exclusive and the only UR i run permanently 3 of is Aleister, Purg at 2, Molehu at 2 etc.
