Evil Within 2 or Resident Evil: Village?

I'm curious what folks will picks? I like a lot of the gameplay from village and the background were fantastic but Evil Within 2 seemed better in many other aspects such as upgrades and horror.

The Evil Within 2 is still a better game, longer, more compelling narrative, better gameplay and definitely more consistent.

You will most likely enjoy Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 2 (2019 remake) and both Resident Evil Revelations entries.

Village's best parts are better than TEW2's best parts, but TEW2 on average is still a better game.

Resident Evil was the predecessor to TEW and made by the same director. That said RE is a very uneven series so you should know what you're getting into. RE4 is probably going to be the closest thing to TEW mechanically and is done by the same director. Very few other RE games have combat as good, though many tried very hard. RE1 remake is going to have the VERY old school survival horror style where avoiding zombies is better if you can help it and lots of exploration puzzles and route planning.

Since the director left to do TEW the rest of the games are of slightly different styles and quality so you may have to do some research, but it will be unanimous that you can't go wrong with RE4.

Despite Village be a fun game, its story get back the crazyness brought by RE4, 5 and 6. The Evil Within 2 is coherent with TEW1, has a great horror atmosphere and a gamplay realy balanced with horror and action.

The main diference is that TEW2 has a stealthly aproach (I rather a open combat instead), but this is subjetiv matter.

Since it's new, REV cost quite a lot. (full price is over 100$)
Even on sale , the price will still be high.

On the other hand, you can get TEW2 for around 15$ while on sale.

RE8 is better in a visual aspect. Evil Within 2 is really longer and more competitive. I overplayed EW2 so 8’d choose RE8 )))

I thought Evil Within 2 was better than Village.

I loved Village, but frankly as a whole, TEW2 is my favorite survival horror of all time, with Alien Isolation right behind it.

I absolutely love the Resident Evil series, but my top 2 horror games are not Resident Evil.

Without any exaggeration, the last 40 minutes of The Evil Within 2 is better than most movies. It's so sad that The Evil Within 1 left a bad taste in people's mouths because the sequel is on another level.

I just recently got The Evil Within 1, & have loved playing the Game...
I never got to buy the 2nd Game. I have not enjoyed Resident Evil since
the 6th Game first came out... Every Entry after the 5th Game has been
not so enjoyable... If you skip Resident Evil 5?

Then i'd have to say that I would rather stick with Resident Evil 1, 2, & 3 Original Games...

but everything after has gotten very negative Feedback...

I don't know about the 2nd Game, but the 1st Game has been praised really well
by Fans, & I liked it a lot...

If the 2nd Game is just as good as the 1st Game? I would get Evil Within 2 over Village...
Again, Village is Newer, & Evil Within 2 is older, do keep that in mind...

evil within is still better, prob one of the best horror games i played in the past 5 years, still hasnt got beat.

The Evil Within 2 100%. RE Village is meh. TEW2 is a masterpiece and has much more engaging content and story. And is longer. IMO there's no comparison.
