Although I see ZERO difference between RGB 8bit Limited Vs 422 limited 10bit.
Except in Desktop where 422 just look very OFF , as well as too sharp especially with text and icons looking bad.
So I don't think it's worth it.
Anyway turning HDR in Windows Display Settings is unnecessary. but I tried it a few times and it only makes the flickering much worse:
I get rapid flickering for like 5-8 seconds and the screen go black/grey/green/magenta flickers harshly - causing mild epileptic seizure.
So I keep HDR off in Windows (also looks washed out).
The problem ks probably the window-full-window flicker wheb attempting to launch the game and go HDR..
I tried powering off the other 1440p pc monitor entirely (from the AC socket). Even deleting it from Device Manager displays. Didn't work. Unplugging it didn't work either.
There's something wrong with the way DMC5 starts up. I think I had similar issues sometimes with other games too.
The should load & start up in fullscreen. Not at off-centered windowed...
I found the SOURCE of my issues!
This part in the config.ini :
FullScreenDisplayMode=154
FullScreenMode=true
WindowMode=FullScreen
This line:
FullScreenMode=FALSE <<<<
I the game always changes automatically to false when I launch the game.
I can't prevent it
The game insists on launching my game in the weird on the side windowed mode!
This also totally messes up my HDR too because it thinks I ALT+TAB or switched between full+Window
This is what's referred to as scRGB HDR, and I go out of my way to use that mode rather than HDR10 (10-bit color, Rec 2020 gamut, PQ gamma -- usually an inferior experience that's washed out) in all of the games that I play.

Now it even launched Fullscreen and then flicker and switches to a window mode that's outside the screen again!!!
WTF Capcom! I can't play the freaking game on Fullscreen???
Can someone who plays in 3840x2160 hdr can post their CONFIG.INI
Or even send a link for me to use???

My game Defaults to 4096 x2160.60Hz which doesn't fit the screen. So I change it back to 3840 x 2160. But then the game sets my Display Refresh Rate to 59.94MHZ. I can click left and go back to 60Hz.
But it seems this may be the cause for the game to start at weird window mode. The game probably doesn't like pure 60hz even though I can play on this resolution.
Need further testing, but pretty sure that's the problem.
Oh and the grey/purple filter and foggy smokiness look is indeed caused by the Window Mode transition bugging the HDR. Because if I change resolution or refresh rate it will fix the HDR colors sometimes.
These Fullscreen and HDR bugs are really bad and frustrating. CAPCOM should read this and fix this this.
The game must run at Fullscreen, and support 60hz, and not change back and forth on startup because that ruins the HDR.
It's also annoying when it gets stuck in window mode on the bottom right corner.
maybe try editing the config file and then locking it to read only?
I unplugged my HDMI cable linking to my 4K TV and it resolved the issue.
