Do you mean the lightning on the title screen? Or in the last few levels?
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I would agree that the lightning flashes in the last level might need to be toned down a bit. I don't have epilepsy, but they did start to give me a bit of a headache. The title screen didn't bother me, so maybe it was because I was focusing on the lightning specifically in the last level.
Thanks!
Dev -- please just add an option to turn off the lightning/flashing effects entirely, if at all possible.
This was my second search result for "how to make a game safe for epilepsy":
http://gameaccessibilityguidelines.com/avoid-flickering-images-and-repetitive-patterns/
(seems like a very helpful website in general)
Note that even if your lightning covers less than 25% of the screen for less than the time mentioned in that list, they also write "it is better to stay on the side of caution, and simply avoid flickering and regular patterns completely wherever possible. [...] If it is not possible to avoid them without harming the game, ensure that adequate and obvious warning is given, and investigate providing an option to disable them".
Can confirm that that site is awesome. Thanks for linking it, löyly -- I should have thought of doing it myself ;>
