How can I craft a golden book?

I have the prayer of imagination and the other buffs and even with a gold chapter I only have a 70% chance to make a silver book.

Maybe try using better cover or/and build upgraded desk.

I guess you are using a softcover? You have to make a Copper Hardcover and turn it into Silver and to Gold. (Maybe Silver is enough with other buffs.)

I was actually using the wrong prayer. For some reason you need to use the engineer one instead of the writer one. Doesn't really make sense to me.

You only need silver book covers to make them, if you got the full tech unlocked and the prayer for inspiration. :3

Yea I finally got it. The prayer for inspiration doesn't actually help you make better books, the engineering one does (I forget the name).

one tip: You can buy hard cover from Astrologer, with that you can make silver book and that's enough to make Gold Prayer's. I had both perks to make higher quality books, so it's recommended. As I remember I had 70% chance to make gold Prayer and it was success. Of ocurse you can save always before take your chance.

I didn't have Tanning Agent to make Hard cover from Soft cover, but with this little "cheat" I did it :)

Tanning agent can be bought from Clotho after you do her initial quests. It's not hard.

Now you can also craft a golden book from a silver cover, just have all the tech first and do a little 'plug and chug' with various chapters, silver and gold quality.
This negates the need to have gold for the cover, which is a rip off.

because you don't write books, you write chapters and so on, and then you put this into the cover. Whch is not a writing but engineering skills.

however you can achieve this without prayers as well, just have a golden bookcover and the golden chapter and ther eis a chance to get a gold one.

given you already unlock all the tech, you should not have issue with this.
You can make all grade of book material and try combo them like soft cover + bronze/silver chapter
