iron/ steel chisel

I went and got a gold star steel chisel thinking it would last longer than an iron one when carving stone in the stune cutter II
but I can't even use it! :(
it only accepts an iron chisel which I find quite disappointing

Steel chisels in general can only be used in the marble bust recipe, higher tier chisels get you higher odds at better busts. For smooth stone/marble you got no choice but to make lots of chisels and put them in a chest. You can then queue a smooth stone, and then open the E interface and queue more than 1 smooth stone there, for convenience...

Iron chisels are for most stone/marble crafting.

Steel chisels (bronze, silver and gold) are *only* for carving the marble heads for the +7 wreath statues.

This is to prevent you from using up some of the durability of the steel chisels doing mundane crafting combines.
