Here's an excellent and up to date guide on Alchemy to help you through this tough times.
Thank you for taking the time to write this post. We all love the game and want it to become even better! Fortunately the developers are doing a great job and are working very hard on the game right now. To give the community an overview of what has been reported and how popular it is, I am keeping track of bugs and feature requests:
Alchemy workbench I and II[github.com]
there is enough room, when in the build menu, scroll down, the hallway left of the morgue allows to build alchemy stuff too.
Could you please post a screenshot, because I tried and couldn't figure out a way to fit a desk, study table, 2 alchemy workbenches, hand mixer, mill, distillation cube, church workbench, alchemy rack and a scroll rack. I don't even have printing press yet, but I know that's also supposed to go in the same space.
Regardless, I still think it the space could be improved, since every other build space can easily fit everything you might want and offers freedom to customize the layout as you see fit. If there's basically a single way to make the alchemy lab functional then I think that remains an issue.
Oh I did not realize that! I was actually wondering what the purpose of that hallway was. Thank you very much!
If you need inspiration for a smoother alchemy workflow layout, check out the guide I've linked to above. It got screenshots and everything. I didn't do it like that since I've already finished the game. But will definitely give it a consideration for my next playthrough.
