With that said, I hope you're aware that the town pass is just a joke played on the misconception from alpha where a generic "not yet available" tag would trigger on the path to the town - the developers never planned to include it and it were just too late to add it in hindsight imo.
What do some of you believe to find there anyway that would enhance the gameplay in some way that couldn't be achieved by any other NPC or location in the village and its surroundings? It would require a considerable expansion of the games scope to include an entirely new urban map region while also making it interesting enough to be worth adding.
The sequel is a different matter though and is a renewed opportunity to include the town. Adding the town then would allow it to work with the greater scope of base game content and not just be limited to the more focused content of one DLC which would just risk making it feel lackluster.
Wasn't talking about the Town Pass, but the spoiler part about the dark god and the graveyeard keeper.
He literally say that he divided the grave keeper in 2 people and one of them went to Town.
That being said, the Devs have stated they are kicking ideas around but we have no idea on when since who knows what is on their timeline. They are still working on PC2, Bandle came out earlier this year, and... Bloomtown? I think it is, just released. So who knows when they will have time to focus on GYK2.
Maybe an inaccurate translation exacerbated the misconception, but I haven't heard anything about that before myself. I just know they were using a standardized string, which is the reason mentioned on the wiki as well.
And yeah, it's too early to expect a GYK2 from them, but definitively hoping for a sequel sooner than later.
