Co-Op / Multiplayer?

This game will be even better than Stardew Valley if it gets Coop support! Would love to play it with my gf :D

This game will never get multiplayer support. It's also a completed game, and the devs are tossing around ideas for the sequel at the moment. I don't think they're going to do multi for that game either though, so the storyline doesn't really work with that. It would also mean making the game online (I would imagine) to enable co-op play, which can be a whole other can of worms.

Last I heard, making the whole mainframe for networking is its own nightmare, never mind syncing players, optimizing, not lagging while doing constant network checks, etc.

Basically, unless someone wants to not only figure out HOW to mod this game to begin with, AND figure out how to code a multiplayer network from scratch, it's not happening.

As entertaining as it would be to do co-op, it's just not likely to ever happen. :(

Why is so hard tho? Stardew Valley made it happen a long time ago and the game is pretty similar. This game would be awesome with MP!
Most of us love this kind of game with coop :(

Stardew was always planned for multiplayer, it's just CA listened to the community to release single player first cuz we didn't want to wait the extra 6 months just for multiplayer at that time.

He also enlisted the Chucklefish studio to do the multiplayer portion because he had no idea how to do it himself.

Aside from that, 6 months sounds optimistic, this game was never built for multiplayer in mind, and the devs have already moved on to other projects.

I apologize if this sounds harsh, I'm just pointing out the facts.
You could look up the dev's email and ask them yourself as well.

It's a shame really, this game has so much potential to be even better than Stardew Valley
