If what you need are the blue points (the same as the red ones and the green ones), you need to deconstruct clean paper. To get clean paper, first take skin from a corpse. Second, build a church workbench in the church basement. You have to unlock tech from the tech tree for both of those, but the tech required only needs red and green points, so there's no gate there.
Once you have the church workbench, use it to turn the skin into clean paper. Take that clean paper over to the study desk (the one that was there when you first got access to the church basement) and select it to 'study'. This will actually 'deconstruct' the paper and turn it into blue points. Once you have those first precious blue points, you can begin unlocking tech that will kick things off.
You're next step should be to start 'studying' all the parts you take from corpses. This will give you lots of what you need. And go from there.
I have probably spend half my playtime so far meditating to get more faith
also I absolutely love how the game auto pauses when you tab out so you dont miss a single second of waiting
speedhacks dont work and the game minimizes even on borderless
this is a technological marvel
Instead of meditating, spend your time improving your church, then the next sermon will yield more faith.
The game is only slow if you make it slow.
You can relatively easily have a church that will yield 25+ faith every week, without any consumable like candle or encens.
Yeah it's actually not overly difficult to get a gold star level combined prayer (gives more money and faith) and use that to make your life much easier.
the only RNG in faith generation is due to not levelling up the church enough... each prayer has a success rate thats compared against the church rating. one above the church rating (which also raises the base amount of faith each sermon) the prayer will NEVER fail, if youre having issues with faith generation, UPGRADE THE CHURCH.
And spending 3 weeks in game just sitting in your yard is a very DUMB way to not play the game, theres always something you can be doing every single day in game.. farming, foraging, collecting materials for crafting, crafting grave decorations to improve your graveyard rating, completing other questlines (and this is very important as most quests link to progress in other quest chains - Note: if you seem stuck in one quest chain, try progressing others, you may get what you need to proceed elsewhere)
Sure, the Snake's and Ms.Charm's quests are locked and ways of creating blue exp points are limited, but you still have the church to improve, the graveyard to improve (while burring/burning bodies), tend to crops and just generally improve your industry.
What do you mean by rng? There is no rng in faith production in normal gameplay. You get one faith per 5 church rate + bonuses. (edit: wiki claim that if the number of crosses is not in whole fives, the rest represent 20% chance, for the next faith)
The only place where rng appears, if when you do not meet the church quality requirements. But that means you do not upgrade the church because you are meditating instead of making the church shiny :-) OK, more seriously, you probably invested your first couple of faiths badly. The best use (IMHO) to research "simple" body parts. You get meat for free (without research). It gives 20 blue exp. Light of Faith and Comfort of Faith cost 5 bleu exp each. Then you meet the requirements of 10 crosses easily.
If you spend all your faith and blue points and did not unlock the tech required to improve the church, buy "Paper Crafting", which unlocks the church workbench (it requires advanced forging for the anvil and complex iron parts - but all that tech need only red and green point, you get them by making wood /metal stuff and clearing plants). Then you may make ropes, that give you a leu point. Hemp and hemp seeds can be bought from a bum living right from the village (in a huge jug). Buy peat (it is like 2 copper per item) from the guy next to a barn in a village, seeds will last for longer.
BTW, the bowl quest for bishop gives you 5 bleu points
Honestly i cannot even imagine meditating r sleeping in this game, there is so much to do.
as the previous people said, if you upgrade your church you gain more faith (or as you call them golden balls), if you upgrade the graveyard you get more money from sermons.
but meditationg till you can give a sermon again is actually kind of a waste of potential, try doing the other quests, each day there is a different main npc there and doing thier quests will progress many things for you. and in some lines you are even able to gather a little bit of faith as well.
also just for curiositys sake, do you keep a carrot farm for the donkey? if you ignore it you will slow down your zombymaking later massively since you need loads and loads and loads of blood.
Its kinda funny that this game just doesnt punish you for not doing your gravekeeper job
I just let like 20 bodies rot and burned them later
You also need 10 faith to get zombies and while you dont have any zombies every minute not spend getting zombies is an actual waste of your time
The 15 faith a week just need tier 2 candles and the confessional / wooden prayer station. Which in turn only needs advanced iron parts and wooden beams. Easily attainable with a couple of graveyard studies. If you dont waste your time meditating for small amounts of faith.
