Poor Steam Deck performance with Graveyard Keeper
Hello. Your game has poor frames per second performance on the Valve Steam Deck. It gets around 30 FPS and has very noticeable jitter and performance issues. Please fix.

Its very distracting on Steam Deck. I've found running the game in Proton Experiential helps a little. But doesn't matter if I run the game in 800x600 or its native res of 1280x800.

I tried launching the game using the -force-opengl flag in the startup parameter and it just crashing at launch.

It's really a shame. I've had some fun with the game, but it ruins the experience on the deck with the lack of stability. I wouldn't have a problem if I could play at 30 fps, but even then it still can't keep constant frames and still stutters.
The fact that it happens on any platform and is a long standing issue is unacceptable tbh.

Agreed. I've gotten 13 hours in and past my return policy window. I submitted a complaint on the developers website and no response.

The developers' nation is under strict international sanctions, their economy is in freefall, and they have been vocally antiwar and could face fines or other punishments as a result. I'm not sure they can even receive the money from sales until this is over. Idk what y'all are expecting from them rn.

Did not know. Understandable But I could expect some communication from them acknowledging the issues people are experiencing if they are able to tweet. Or perhaps don't have your game marked as Steamdeck 'Verified' if it runs bad. I would not have purchased the game if it were not marked as such. I understand that Valve is mostly in charge of that, but I would say developers have a say in their status and messaging, or update steam store page news or description.

I opened a ticket with Steam support and they were all but useless. Several back and forth messages and they recommend I contact the developer.....

I guess is valve or steam who puts verified mark on steam deck game and not the developers. Its kind bad blame devs for poor performance on a platform that game not be design for.

You can run the game natively on the Steam Deck (without Proton) and its the best way to play, the game will hold 60FPS 90% of the time that way, but it still has the stutter problem!!!

To switch to native, just choose Steam Linux Runtimer (Sniper) on the compatibility options.

One thing to note, by choosing the Linux native you will need to start a new save, you can go back to proton and your old save will be there though....

Just run the game at 40fps and set refresh to the same. Limit GPU down to 800 or 1000mhz a s you will have a better time. The game is super heavy o the CPU. You may also want to consider the mod that swaps the exp balls for straight exp. That has helped me.

Same for me, running native Linux version, the game is unplayable. Stuttering, low framerate. Factorio, for example, runs excellent compared to this.
