Steam or PS4? Controller a Must

I'm planning to buy Graveyard Keeper, but need help deciding between Steam or PS4.

The big question: how does the Steam version play with a controller? (The PC Master Race starts booing.) I know, I know, mouse and keyboard are better. But I prefer the PS4 controller. (The Xbox people start booing too.) Can anyone tell me how well GK runs on Steam with a PS4 or other controller? I've seen a couple threads about directional pad or input errors...

Don't Starve on Steam was sometimes kinda iffy with the controller, so I ultimately moved to the PS4 version. However, Stardew Valley on Steam plays like a dream with the controller, and you would have to pull SV Extended and other mods out of my cold dead heads before I would move to console. Are there any Graveyard Keeper mods on PC that you wouldn't leave for the world?

(I've asked the same questions about Terraria too; controller support and mods.)

Bottom line, how smoothly does Graveyard Keeper play with on Steam with a controller? Thank you!

I'm not using a PS4 Controller but another one, the Blackwidow Stationary Controller by Razer, it's a bit different from the PS4 one but works like a charm.
