DLC worth it?
I realize the game isn't that expensive but the DLC has bad reviews. Is it actually worth the extra money or just get the base game?

Stranger Sins is the best as far as content. Game of Crone isn't too bad either, but doesn't add that much to the plot/story/lore. Better Soul Save is the least interesting as it literally only has a self contained story. I personally do not think BSS is worth it unless you are a completionist (for achievements and for maxing out your graveyard and making better zombies).

BSS I personally would not get at full price, I honestly am not super impressed with it, but the others I do think are worth it for sure.

The zombies from the first dlc are great for taking care of stuff you dont wanna do yourself anymore. Example, cutting down trees. 1 zombie will cut that giant tree up past the starter stone farm, and the 2nd will carry the logs from it to your workyard. Granted, they're slower than you are at working, but it's still free labor.

As to the 2nd dlc, depending on how much of it you do, can get a ton of free cooked food (Personal experience, the woman made nothing but cooked eggs), and at the end of donkeys new questline, you can get an insane pickaxe with an efficiency of 200%. If I recall correctly, it's been a while, it also never breaks.

The 3rd dlc, I have no experience with, never bought it.

Suddenly, the sale just ended so maybe next time :P. Thanks for the input, however.

Almost forgot, 2nd dlc also gives you a bag that effectively increases your inventory size.

Just to clarify, zombies are the first DLC and are now part of the base game (Breaking Dead I think it's called?).
Second DLC is Stranger Sins (Run your own Tavern and learn lots of lore)
Third is Game of Crone (Refugee Camp, which is what rodelis was talking about with free food. Minor additional lore in this game. Corpse rating increased to 16 from 12. Storage bags for fishing, farming, etc, along with universal bag.)
Fourth DLC is Better Save Soul (Corpse rating increased up to a max of 26 white skulls. Small story that doesn't really add to the overall world lore).

I went through all the DLC and I say, if you love the base game you gonna love the DLC. I would fully recommend them all, they add neat stuff and it's just more Graveyard Keeper, more stuff to do.

Bags
Automation
Passive resource income (refugee camp)
Money Making through a Tavern

I really enjoyed all the DLC

My opinion is that you don't get the game without the DLC. It's unpleasant to play and has some horrific downtime if you don't. All but the last adds good lore. The QoL of the DLC cannot be understated with regards to Better Save Soul with making it easier to get good bodies and the bags of Game of Crone.

I dont understand why the DLC is so harshly rated, they all add cool stuff and expand the story on top in a lengthy fasion

I enjoyed the DLC's.

They're also essential if you want to 100% the achievements too, not that most people care for that.
But if that's something you're into then it's a thing.
