Is there a way to use zombies to get clay, coal or sand?

Clay and Sand: No
Coal: Yes

The mine at the northern quarry area of the map, you can use 2 zombie workers to mine Iron and/or Coal. They can deliver them to your house too. The coal goes into a trunk and the Iron goes onto a stockpile

But how do I just mine coal?

I believe once the iron stockpile is full they just mine coal until the box is filled.

It appears random, maybe someone could explain if there's logic to it because I'd like to know too.

Each zombie miner seems to randomly choose either Iron or Coal and once they've mined it then then it's another random selection?

it appears to be that, thats why I asked here, to know if there was a way and that I just had to unlock it or something
