2: Perform weekly sermon to gain faith. Amount depends on the rating of the church.
3: use the door in the church to go the the alchemy lab underneath.
4: Use paper on the existing study table to gain science study points
5: Analyse body parts and graveyard decorations for blue science.
Once you get some points you can grow the rating of church for more faith and then you can spend more blue points to get the second level of stone grave decorations that you can make for blue points.
Additionally smelting glass into flasks creates blue points and if you talk to Miss Charm on Charm day after she rejects you, you can then talk to the poet who wants ink and paper, asking him about ink and paper will direct you to the astrologer and allow you to access his shop. The astrologers shop lets you buy science books for silver.

There's no mention of Desk anywhere on the page, nor any edits recently
Thank you for the suggestion on body parts! Going to try that now!
Well, that doesn't help because I need to blue science to study the body parts. None of this is helping and the game is absolute ♥♥♥♥♥ about telling you how to go about anything. If I weren't past my refund window, I'd be getting my money back.

I think you have a small confusing.
Blue technology points IS NOT the same as Science.
Science (the big blue atom symbol) are earned by consumming paper (or paper related item) on the study table.
Unlock the technology called Paper making (from the writting tech tree)
Make a church workbench
Use it to transform human skin or bat wings into paper
Consume the paper on the study table
Then study things
Studying body parts or grave will give you blue technology points (the same as the red/green you get when doing action).
It is crafted on the "Church workbench"
And used on the "Desk" to produce writting related items (flyers, notes, etc..)
Paper has more than 1 usage.
Do you want science = Consume it on the Study table
Do you want to make notes, flyers, etc.. = Use the desk
Do you want to craft clean paper? = Use the church workbench
The desk wiki means the same desk you do the research on (that costs science and faith).
The UI is the same, you choose an item. Most items will be researched. But some will be decomposed to science (the UI would tell you you are decomposing the item into science, not researching).
What items can be decomposed? Mostly paper: clean paper, notes, chapters, books.
When cleaning the church cellar, you will find a chapter (or a note, do not remember) you may use it. Later you have to produce paper. You will need cheap research from the "writing" tech tree: paper production. It allows you to build a Church Workbench. where you can make paper from human skin (so you need hardspares tech) or bats.
I most of the time save the stories and just decompose clean paper. One skin turns into 4 "pigskin" -> 16 clean paper -> 32 science.
Can't consume anything on the study table, because that needs Science as a catalyst which I can't make/get ANYWHERE.
I can't get the blue things because I have no science, and I can't get science because *gestures* nothing is available to make it.
This is literally the worst designed quest system I've ever seen, and I've played hundreds of games, PC and consoles.
You can, no science needed.
Just run the game and try.
You go to the study table, press "E" on the study table, click on the slot is smpty, or on the item, if something is there already ( like on the cross in this case: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2923489119 ), the inventory will open. Choose clean paper, notice that no science is needed ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2923489140 ) and click decompose.
Except I can't make paper. And your first screen shot shows something that needs science. I CANNOT MAKE IT. Seriously, you guys aren't getting it. I cannot make/produce any science and without that I cannot do anything that gives me blue crystals, so therefore I cannot progress in the game. It's broken.
I CANNOT MAKE PAPER! lol.....seriously, I'm not sure how much more plain (no pun) I can make that.
You make paper at the Church Workbench. You start with a research bench and a church workbench in the church basement. If you have demolished either table before you can rebuild them you have to start over.
Just north of your house, and to the left of your house up the hill, are three spots where you can find bats at night (dusk to midnight). These bats drop wings, take these ten bat wings (per night) to the church workbench. You can make cheap paper and then refine that into clean paper.
You do not need science or blue faith points to make paper.
Did you even read my first post?
Did you read what is written nest to this image? You do not need to make that research, you have to _cancel_ it by clicking the first icon.
Try to follow instructions. We all played the game and we know how it works.
1.If you have clean paper, notes or a chapter, go to the study desk and decompose it (precise instructions in the earlier posts).
2. If you do not have any of those items, get skin or hunt bats, make paper on church workbench (that you have to unlock and build, but no blue points needed)
