Iirc, each tent built should house two refugees. A well-known breakpoint exists where - after building 2 tents and summoning 3 refugees - you can't progress the camp any further until you've progressed far enough in the vampire quest-line. You may just be experiencing this...
Either/or, screenshots would be helpful. How many tents have you built, and how many refugees have you summoned / exist in your camp? - at dawn, can you observe the appropriate number of refugees exit each tent?
what is "nebulous currency"?
never seen anything like that in the game....
Nebulous = vague, unclear
Currency = way of paying (or in this game, crafting)
So when I say "nebulous currency", I'm saying it's a crafting item that isn't well-defined. It's maybe mentioned TWICE on the official wiki, and only to show that it crafts into a refugee, rather than how to obtain it. The amount of time I wasted... just to find out I should have it already, and it was a game-breaking bug...
refugee happiness is not "nebulous", its not a currency and its not craftable.
camp happiness builds up, by completing camp tasks and building up their camp, once their happiness hits the cap then you build another tent/bed then the cap is raised and you do the tasks and building again, until its maxed and your task/quests are complete and then the camp is done aside from you maybe snagging food and buying stuff from their trades.
also to mention, once you build a tent/bed, you will likely want to leave the camp, maybe even sleep as the new refugees will not magically appear after you build the tent/bed.
I didn't say refugee happiness was a nebulous currency, read the original. I said "the free place" was a nebulous currency. And the fact that you conflated the two just proves my point. "The free place" isn't a well defined crafting material. I was supposed to get two when I built a tent, but I didn't get any. I then had to scroll through a bunch of wiki only to come to the conclusion that it was a game-breaking bug.
No matter how many times I slept, refugees never came. I can't craft them either. The cook has never shown up.
I have a question for you. There was someone who came to the discord with the same issue.
The problem was coming from a mod: "Where ma storage".
Do you have mods installed and more specifically this one?
If yes, can you try to disable it and see if in the refugee camp the "empty beds" appear now normally?
It would be helpful to find where this bug is coming from.
There has been a lot of people experiencing this bug, a lot more than when GoC came out.
The biggest difference is that there are now many more mods and a mod manager (and I assume much more players are using mods).
If this bug is indeed coming from this mod (or some other mod), it would help to know how to fix it (and possible tell the mod maker about this bug so he can fix it)
No freaking way, please don't say that's the problem. Please no. That's literally the only mod I have enabled for that playthrough. How is it conflicting with crafting when it only affects chests??? I just didn't wanna have a bazillion chests because I lose where everything is and walking takes forever, are you serioooouuuuuus T-T
I went vanilla days ago to test if it was mods or a bug but I didn't get "the free place"s. That's why I assumed bug rather than mod. WAIT THAT MEANS I HAVE TO DISABLE IT FOR THIS PLAYTHROUGH TOO NOOOOOOOOOOO!!
I can handle the minute-long walk to town. I can handle the economy kicking me in the teeth for selling firewood. I can handle the constant blue point shortage. I CANNOT handle automatic pickup forcing items to stalk me before taking up inventory slots, and then immediately having to play chest roulette so I don't miss my date with the astrologer. Omg my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
I think you can re-enable the mod after. You'll just need to do this every time you build a new tent (there's only 4 in total through the GoC quests).
I HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION. Ok, so the answer isn't DISABLE mods, it's UPDATE mods!!! The newest update of Where's Ma' Storage fixes the issue, and I think if people having this issue in vanilla were to install it, it might fix them too!
the issue was caused by the mod, installing it isnt solving an issue, when the issue isnt present in the game itself.
I'm getting tired of correcting you when you only read part of the thread and jump to conclusions. Read the quoted thread in my previous post.
I was responding to the guy before me, who is has no mods but has the issue. That means the issue IS present in the game itself. The mod now FIXES the problem, so if anyone is having the problem in vanilla (ie the guy I was talking to) then installing the mod might fix it.
Also, if anyone is operating on an old version of the mod, or had their game corrupted by the mod, installing the update will definitely fix it. They will probably be able to uninstall it afterwards and have everything run normally from now on, too.
Everything with the refugees is working normally for me now. I think the solution I used is the only thing I can leave for the guys still experiencing the issue. May the Ancient God help you, poor mortals, with all with the bugs in this game xD
