Any other similar games with such huge tech trees for a singular character?
This game has a really cool techtree where a ton of the stuff unlocked boosts the character itself rather than just unlocking a ton of buildings.

Are there any other games you guys know of that follow similar routes? Like I dont want stuff like factorio or the Civ games or path of exile

They dont really fit the type of game this is.

Its not even the stardew vally-ness that im interested in

its the whole single character with a huge tech tree they can unlock that effects the character themselves

Oh I know, and I agree it’s quite a unique tech tree. The point grinding can get a bit old but there’s so many things to unlock it’s very satisfying.

My time at Portia is very similar to the gameplay of Graveyard keeper, although it doesn't have the tech tree as a form of advancement, but instead researching new machines to make new finished goods.

You might also like Subnautica. Nat exactly the same and no real tech tree, but lots of exploration, gathering, finding new recipes and building a base.

The planet crafter is terriforming game. Similar in a large tech tree and building lots of stuff,

Hmm would automation games that revolve around the player count like Dyson Sphere Program? It has a rather large tech tree revolving around the player and what they can craft or build.

But I keep going back to Zelda games that are sorta similar.

Im thinking arpgs are the closest with tech trees around the player but the mechanics are different with the hack n slash.

Mass Effect trilogy?

GK is sorta unique borrowing from a few genres. Its why its hard to compare straight up to other games.

Have you looked at the Dungeons series of games?

Medieval Dynasty have also interesting tech tree and leveling mechanic. When you grind with different tasks; like farming, mining, building, hunting, ect, your character and dynasty get xp to that specific area and you can pick new skills to improve productivity. Then you have dynasty tech tree which also increase similarly by doing things and from your npc workers working for you and after getting enough point it unlocks a new building. You can also buy new schematics, precepts and other things with money from the new building tech tab that you have acquired.

Its not massive tech tree, but it will take lot of time to be able to unlock all.
Medieval dynasty is not story driven game and can get really boring if you are story driven person. Its open sandbox game where you can build your own village and get npc:s to work for you.
