Depends on how many you want.

The messy bush give 5 green when removed.
There are a few of them around the map and a lot in the other side of the graveyard.

Making food is an easy way.

Otherwise, I haven't check all actions to see which one is the most efficient for green. Probably stone mining, but it could be something else.

Which food can you recommend making in early-mid game? I think that will be good for points

The food you should make all game long is the same.

Carrots cutlets. Made from carrots in the oven.

It is possible to start farming carrots from day 1 (with a 1st harvest on day 4).
The recipe for them is free

And carrots cutlets are the most efficient energy/sec you can produce.
You also need to cultivate carrots anyway for the donkey, so producing more is easier than a 2nd food type.

Also, because it make a lot of them, you will make more green points than by making high energy food (like muffins or wine)

I had carrots before but stopped caring for them after a bit, what fertilizer can you recommend using so I can get more seeds back? I am very bad at farming. Thanks for all the help

I stopped using any advanced fertilizer on basic crops (carrots and wheat).

I prefer using peat only.

It does mean you lose seeds, however, buying some seeds once every 2-3 weeks take less time than crafting fertilizer.

And you still keep the -20% time boost from peat.

You need ~3 patch for the donkey and 4 for your consumption. Add another one and sell some carrots when you go buy seeds if you are afraid to lack money.

With peat, you can make 2 harvest per week (one every 3 day)

Sounds doable, I did it with river sand before but it was kinda slow even with a steel shovel

yeah, sand takes I think 5 swings of a steel shovel? whereas clay only takes 1 for the same amount of points. If you dont know a convinient place to get clay just go left of the cremation area

Steel tool make no difference in time it takes, only the energy spent and their durability before they break.

false, it takes 1 swing of the shovel for a steel shovel and 2 for an iron one

what exactly do you mean with energy/sec?
I am defenitely team red wine in regard of energy restoreation, not a lot of work, you get plenty of whine for tending to the wineyard once in a while, and you dont need to have a lot of stacks in your inventory. never actually calculated the efficiency, though

back to topic: had until now (late mid-game) always an excess in green points that I didn't need. guess I took it slow in the beginning and did various farming / resource gathering? Maybe start doing pumpkins, onions and lentils in your kitchen garden, you can sell them anyway through the merchant company later on (if you didn't unlock it yet), and farming them manually gives you not only green points but also seeds for your later zombie farms. you need some time anyway if you want to get to sufficient quantities gold seeds with the use of fertilizer. also onions and hops for the inquisitor questline. maybe start going towards the merchants fine dinner quest, too. you are going to need some farming/cooking for that, too. just some ideas.

The best way to get green dots is farming.
