Game of Crone - Stuck staying near Alaric's tent at night

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't fulfill the "Stay near Alaric's tent at night" quest.

I've tried spending a night on the left side of his tent by the middle tent peg.
A night on the right side underneath the barrels.
Behind his tent.
Behind the tent to the right next to the post.
Behind the tent to the left near the basket on the ground.
In front of his tent by the fire.
Heck, I even spent a whole night inside his tent staring Alaric in the eye.

I've probably spent more than a week (though not a full week consecutively. that's my next plan to see if it only happens on certain days) tying to fulfill the requirements of this quest and I keep coming up short.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Also, IDK if it's important but I've already finished everything else in the game. this was my last uncompleted task ( as far as I can tell)

Whelp. I suppose I ought to search the forum more thoroughly next time

The solution is to walk around his tent at midnight. it eventually causes the trigger to occur. Some people have said it happened in front of his tent. For me it was on the right side walking towards the back.

Point being, you might need to walk around a bit if this isn't triggering for you. i.e. don't spend all night standing in one spot.
