To which game did we play - was it NEStalgia? Or is it just that I used to post on forums you visited, often? Anyway, I go through spurts of activity and I'm trying to 'speed run' this game.
Looks like my new personal best for obtaining all six items for the portal is going to be 108 days...

You will need flyers for the tavern events, so it does help to get the printing press.

Yeah, I just remember you being one of the more active and well informed users here ~2 years ago when GyK first came out, is all. Good luck on them speed runs - wish a save kept track of real-world time.

OP wasn't asking about the printing press in general ... there's a tier 2 workstation available in the game, but it's practically useless as there's no benefit in upgrading the tier 1 - that was the Q.

I couldn't remember the difference between the tier1 one and tier2 one, what was that? Hadn't used the tier1 one for quite a long time.

Right we worked on finding alchemy recipes among other things.
My personal best is looking at around 108 days.
Not world record status, that is around 72 days, but still a decent best.

I couldn't remember the difference between the tier1 one and tier2 one, what was that? Hadn't used the tier1 one for quite a long time.

Tier 2 has a lower energy cost, making it slightly more efficient. Only useful if you mass produce flyers.

Are you sure about that? The wiki say they have the same cost. It might be faster however which may result in a less energy needed, but there is nothing about the time requirement.

Ribly is mistaken, the wiki is accurate; there's only one craft (Flyers), and it takes the same amount of mats, energy, and time to craft, while producing the same amount of products (10x) and techpoints (2x blue). Again, the tier 2 Printing Press is definitely still useless...

I've found it useful when I need flyers for events in the tavern. It's a very niche use, but it helps.

I see your point. I jumped straight to building printing press 2, so I wasn't aware that printing press 1 could do the same thing. Sorry about my confusion.

They should have at least gave printing press 2 an additional function or made it more efficient than the first one.
