Hello.

I hope developers will accept community-based translations (from fans & players).

We already discussed a bit about translations here :

There are several online translation platforms that could be used :

Transifex :
https://www.transifex.com/

( example of game project that already uses it: https://www.transifex.com/wildfire-games/0ad/ )

Documentation :
-- https://docs.transifex.com/getting-started/getting-started-as-a-manager

Unfortunately, Transifex is not free.. it costs some $. 😐

But there are alternatives, such as:
-- http://zanata.org/

I helped InXile Entertainment for their french translation of Wastland 2 : http://inxile-entertainment.com/projects/wasteland2-localization-project. They used the website https://www.getlocalization.com to ask for volunteers.

So, there are tools to make this happening (a community-based translation). But I don't know if developers would prefer to pay for a professional translation with a company.

I helped translating several projects in the past. I volunteer to do the French language.

I just hope developers haven't hardcoded the english strings..
