Stuck at getting the necronomicon

I'm supposed to get the necronomicon for snake, but I don't have enough reputation with the astrologer (I'm at 30 rep with him). The only way it seems I can raise his rep now is to give him the restoration tools, which I can't get until I give snake the necronomicon, which I can't get. I must be missing a quest somewhere for someone, please help.

That's advanced enough, As long as you talked about the necklace with snake you should have enough reputation. I think they did something to snake and astrologer questline, It's not impossible that screwed you over. Indie games amirite LUL

I hope not, but I have talked to Ms. Charm and Snake about the necklace and talked with the hunchback. Somehow, I'm stuck at 30 rep with the astrologer and 40 rep with Snake. I can't seem to go any further with either of them.

if you gave him the nails and the blood, you actually should be able to ask snake for the restoration tools, sure yo haven't done that and they lie around in a chest?

Just went through and systematically checked every chest I have in the game and the restoration tools aren't in any of them. I just talked with Snake again and the options I have are to give him the necronomicon (which I don't have and can't get without raising the astrologian's rep) and the other is ask him for "This stuff I'm looking for...", but it requires 60 rep and I'm stuck at 40.

This happened to me as well and I'm stuck at 40 rep with snake and 30 rep with the astrologer too

I feel like I'm missing 10 rep with the astrologian somehow. Everything I've read about this says that Snake gives you the restoration tools after you get the necronomicon, but I'm locked out of that until 40 rep. Is there another questline somewhere that also leads you to getting 10 rep with the astrologian?

You give Astrologer a skull for ten, the book for 10, and acid for 10(?) Where else can you gain reputation? I never had this requirement. When I asked him, he just tells me about it.

Right, I've done those 3 things. Now it says, "What about the Necronomicon?" and it's locked out until 40 rep. The only other thing in his dialogue options is to give him the restoration tools, which I don't have because I can't get the necronomicon from him.

I honestly think it's what they did to the questline. because I don't remember having a reputation requirement for necronomicon.

The wiki doesn't mention having a rep requirement for it either. Seems like I've ran into a gamebreaking bug/oversight if that's the case. I'll wait a little bit before submitting it just in case someone else comes up with something I didn't know about.

I submitted a bug report to them about the broken questlines. Hopefully, they'll get back to me soon with information. I'll do a follow up post after they do.

Have you done (to get Restoration tools from Snake) 5xBloody nails. level three of the dungeon Iron Maidens will drop 2xBloody nailsand Bucket of blood which is on the fifth level of the dungeon, a chest containing it . After that "Speak to the Astrologer and he'll say that he gave it to the Lighthouse Keeper. Speak to the Lighthouse Keeper and give him 5xMaggot in exchange for the Necronomicon . Return to Snake for 10 Happiness

@SparkyL Yes, all the way up to where you talk to the Astrologer. The dialogue option to ask about the Necronomicon is gated behind a 40 rep wall. I can't ask him about it. The dialogue option is there, but I can't interact with it because my rep level isn't high enough.
