Enjoy the game - Don't rush for buying Aristocrat papers
Hey there,

I've nearly finished the game. It was amazing and the best fun I had so far for a long time with a game. Really, totally awesome.

Then I bought the Aristocrat papers and everything went bad.

No Spoiler version:

Just take your time and finish as much quests as possible before you buy them.

Spoiler version: (No story spoiler)

Afterwards money becomes completly pointless in the game. There is nothing left to buy that need much money. So my whole alcohol and vegetable production is pointless. Sermons are pointless. No need for money in any way. So why to order zombies planting crafting stuff? Why to enhance your graveyard? It's all for money. Money you don't need anymore. That really killed the fun for me. :( All I'm doing know is meditating to hit certain days to end my last few quests and starring at my useless work/graveyard.

i agree. i had been very satisfied with the content overall, seemed like it was demanding

turns out it's almost pointless

i would really like some end game goals before the game is over

Agreed. Game is great, so much fun, until you hit the end of the road/the lategame. They really need to fix that. I would even pay for another DLC to solve that problem, because like said Game is great and I will support good games.

Hmm. Anyone know any other games like this? (except Stardew Valley)

i like oxygen not included, dont starve was fun too, but sucked making a bunch of progress just to do something dumb trying to learn and have to restart

Ye same here with Don't starve. I wasn't a fan of always starting over.

I saw Oxygen not included on the shop, but I thought it looks very "hasty" like you're always under pressure. I prefer more relaxing games, so not sure about Oxygen not included?

Yeah once you hit a point where you have aristocrat papers I too realised that there wasnt any more need for money. I had got so much stuff spun up with zombies doing everything. I was pulling in nearly 2 gold a week. It left me to sadly abandon my enterprises! It wasn't too disheartening though. I just felt like I had achieved that side of the game. Plus I could shortcut some bits I did need, like buying the Golden Apple rather than doing the last 5 dungeons. I felt like i'd earned it another way. I started buying alchemy stuff rather than figuring out all the crafting of it etc.

I was lazy to be honest. I checked the alchemy recipes on the official wiki :3

The reason why I was so disappointed is, that it happened so suddenly. I pushed my production to the limit and 3 days later (since I allready got some gold from my sermons) it all went useless. But well, I started a second playthrough and this time I will ignore those papers for sure :P

My Time at Portia is a similar type of game and very well done. Focus is more on crafting vs gardening, but that same get-chummy-with-your-neighbors type of feel.

Thank you gab! Sadly I allready played it :/ and ye it was fun and great, too!
