Gerry's Wish? [Probably Spoilers]
Any ideas what he wished for?

It's implied he caused the great blast when he tried to make his wish. And he says something must have gone wrong with making it. But that's all we're given to go on.

Great question ... [definitely spoilers]

So, end-game, what you (the player) are expecting is that the player character will eventually be transported back home into his modern reality of 23/6, as that's his goal from day 1 - his literal first task is 'to get back home to his love'. The *twist* at the end is that he's re-united with his love by-way-of her being pulled into 'the Kingdom' alongside him, potentially never leaving himself. This introduces the possibility that the magic of the portal may not necessarily give the user specifically what they think they want; either an inaccuracy (condemning his love to the same fate) or super-accuracy (maybe all the player character actually wanted was to be with his love - not necessarily back home).

Intro; Gerry. It's made relatively clear throughout the game that Gerry is all that remains of the previous Graveyard Keeper ~25(?) years prior, likewise pulled from somewhere else to 'the Kingdom', likewise intent on using the portal for his own ends, which ended in the 'Great Blast' that scatters the 6 magical requisite pieces and reduces whatever Gerry was before to an immortal skull, leaving us with two explanations: either something went specifically wrong regarding that particular formation of the portal (which we'll never know), or Gerry's wish - whatever it was - could be (mis?)interpreted to mean that an incredibly violent explosion is required.

My best guess as to what his wish might've been is that he just wanted an end to it all ...being immortal, out of one's own reality and time, forced into looking after a graveyard. And if that was indeed what he wanted, he arguable got his wish; barely remembering his past, while having no future responsibility ...except helping the next Keeper, which he interprets as a new entertainment and friendship more than anything else.

Not exactly the happiest of possibilities, but it makes the most sense to me... :gk_cross:
