Health Powder

I'm probably being dumb but I can't figure out how to make health powder. Everything I've seen online says to make it at an alchemy mill using pumpkins cabbage or crop waste, but when I use the mill each of those components are shaded and can't be selected. Is there a technology that needs to be unlocked first?

Never mind I figured it out - had to study the ingredients first.
