How does the study table work?

Hey folks! So blue points say you'll get your first from the study table in the church basement, so I pushed for it and now I have it. Problem is I can't use it. Everything needs a blue atom sign to study, but it also seems to be generated on the table itself. So I'm really not sure how to proceed....

Also, incidentally, I have two copper star stories and have no idea how to use them. Any tips?

You have to create some white/clean Paper first on a Desk. When you "study" the Paper you get Science Points. Then you can really start studying.

To study most anything, you'll need to access the study table, and have some Faith and Science readily available. To accumulate Science, you need to 'study' paper products - the cheapest and easiest to create (and Jaguras pointed out) is clean paper, either from the skin of corpses or the wings of slain bats.

Stories (of varrying qualities) are part of crafting higher-end paper products, which are required for creating new and better sermons ...so just stockpile them for now.
