Check the save folder, there are 2 backups. You have to manually restore one.

thanks, but this is as far as i get and cant seem to pinpoint where a save file is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Graveyard Keeper\Graveyard Keeper_Data

i am not familiar with backups and of course this game was not in Documents\MyGames

What do you do with the existing 1.dat save file? I named it 1.datbroken and changed the 1.dat.backup.1 save file to 1.dat and it didnt work for me! My 64 hour save file is GONE. Even after creating a copy of the 1.dat.backup.2 file and deleting the whole Lazy Bear Game ordner from my pc and deinstalling and reinstalling the game it still gives me a 1.datbroken file every time i start the game. After I thought "well why don`t I name the 1.dat.backup.2 file 1.datbroken then?" and doing so the game started giving me 1.dat files (also not returning my save file). I`m at a loss right now. I loved this game SO MUCH and now I hit a point of no return and god I`m gonna cry again.

Please help! I tried the above. changed the name of my backup file into 1.dat but still my save file isn't showing. I didn't remove my first 1.dat files, just put them in another folder (I read this somewhere). I'm not all that technical so I don't know what to do anymore. Very sad to see 40 hours go down the drain...
