What was sand blue point abuse?
Was it turning sand to glass?

That is the only thing I could think of considering there was no other way to get blue points with sand.

♥♥♥♥ better not have removed getting blue points from sand cause blue points are one hell of a grind.

Yes it was, Glas smelting no longer gives you blue points. The idea is that blue points were made to be hard to get, but with new sand mining mechanics (10 per dig instead of 1), this made glas the easiest and only "viable" option to get fast blue points.
Book writing, studying things and marble products are now the best way to go AFAIK.
They don't want you to be able to rush through the tech.

EDIT: making conical flasks out of glas still gives you blue points. So you can still get blues from glas, just not in the huge amount you could before.

Man, they nerfed something that didn't need nerfing AND they made the donkey into a jerkbag of a character. I know I'll come back to it because I love the concept, but I gotta say, I'm a bit turned off of the game right now. :/

They've made near every recipe in the game easier and reduced energy costs, they should undo that too tbh

damn i was about to take advantage of that mechanic too since I noticed that in the update. I wasn't able to play yesterday.

damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn I only got 16 blue pfffffff
