How do you get Paper from Ruined Books?

I've got no clue how to get paper from them. It says I can salvage but I can't.

It's awkwardly designed, but the moment you find those Ruined Books, you also get a few sheets of paper alongside them.

It's strongly implied that this paper originates from those ruined books and that your character has already automatically salvaged the paper from the books, the moment they pick them up. The work is already done for you.


The books themselves are a junk item that should be destroyed.

I never got any paper though?

I got a paper product along with my books.


To answer your original question though, I have never been able to figure out how to use the books. I was just as puzzled as you at first, until I accepted that the paper product I got alongside it was probably what the game meant.

Yeah I don't think it will work for me. Luckely it's quite easy to get paper when you look for the stuff.

I think its the same thing with the pigskin paper made of real pigskin-> it was in development but then they just forgot about it.

You don't. when you recycle a book . you get research points.

its yet another in a long line of useless items, missing content, broken gameplay and worthless trash this game was released as.

Like most everything else in this game, you can destroy it and ignore it.

Kind of like..

Definitely a case of more stuff that was supposed to be in, they didn't finish it in time, and just cut out the way it could be done while still ieaving traces of it.

I would just add a crafting recipe to the game for it somewhere.

You don't get anything from the ruined books EVER no matter what you do. They are an item that has not been fully implemented. Store them in the chest and wait for an update, or destroy them.

Ruined Book + river sand = 2 clean paper at Desk II in the latest version
