As a start, yes. But when you do get them and unlock the vineyard, don't plant them. Instead work on getting quality fertilizer 1. Which will give you more seeds when you harvest, as well as more fruit and quality fruit. Enough seeds for the to be no deficit and even surplus of seed!

yeah ive just been regular farming and hops for beer just finally realized that i needed more than 1 wine so i opened up the winery already got over 100 gold fertilizer for speed and quality

I would rather just use quality fertilizer because the speed one is only for - well, speed. Its not like you are in a rush to farm everyday in this game

you can get bronze - gold star quality seeds from the dungeon for grapes, pumpkin, lentils, etc just by breaking the jars that are there. though im not to sure on the rarity of grape seeds showing up.

i use the speed for pumpkins for the merchant box cuz i forget till last minute to make them lol

I thought the boost increases crop sizes in addition to growth speed and the quality one increases chances of higher rating crop/seeds?

Apparently they changed boost on release to only give growing speed boost and nothing else, quality fert hasn’t been changed though that’s still same as alpha I believe.

do you use it on a garden plot , and straight away plant over it?

You choose the fertiliser, peat, instead of the seeds, there will be two signs that appear in the plot, you then plant your seeds as normal.
