We are never allowed to go to town
Town is developers "joke"
Seriously, I am confused about this, some reviewers must be as well, there are so many referances to "The Town" even going as far as to warn you that (Spoilers) may affect siad town. I guess this is just the illusion of consequence? I'm not a fan of this "Joke" TBH and feel like it was never intended to be one.
-It is still a fantastic game BTW-
what a shame if it's a 1 time bam, don't like u..too bad.
But it's one of those things you look forward to when just starting out. You explore and find how expanded the map is, with a fortress up north, a town down south and swamp and quarry in the west. So while the west doesn't disappoint, the north and south most definitely do. To find out there is no purpose to these things is a big disappointment, one the devs should probably have thought through a little bit more.
More precisely Gerry tell you and donkey is complaining about capitalism sh**.
No surprises there, the developers are frankly, imo, lazy at ♥♥♥♥. It makes sense to me that they sell you more content instead of creating it for the thing you've already paid for. The game has left early access but is still litterd with a multitude of problems.
From what I understand they were forced to publish the game on August 15th, so I think they had to take liberties.
And I'll never understand why people are complaining about not going into to town (also calling it a "joke"), when in game it "explicitly" states you can't go to Town because you are cursed by someone who doesn't want you to go to Town.
It makes sense that would be the case. You are led to believe you are going to town, because from your character's perspective you thought you could go to town, if you get the pass, but as it turns out, no, some in game character is like "F U, you ain't getting in"
This isn't something new people, this happens a LOT in video games, I don't understand why its a problem unless its because of Alpha which isn't a fair criticism if you just got spoiled.
Because as far as I am aware, there were no mentions of what you could do in town, there was no mention of any assets for the town being availabe.
I've never seen anyone counterargue with valid proof that the full release as its released you could go to Town. With screenshots of the player being in Town and doing things.
If you even bothered to pay attention the map, you know damn well there wasn't going to be a Town, the description of Town made it seem like it absolutely dwarfed the village. At best I thought we could go to specific locations in the Town and that was it, because there's no way that piddly room left on the map could include the town, it would be so small and tiny or at the very least it would border around the edges of the map, so it would be long but it wouldn't be big like the rest of the map would imply with the things we do interact.
IF ANYTHING, what the hell is up north there's a LOT more space up there then there is at the bottom of the map, I actually though the Town would be there iniitially because at least it could believably hold more space for a Town, but once I got the town pass, I knew it wasn't because it was just the fort. Still there's a huge clouded space right above Witch's Hill and Wheat Farm, seriously NOW that space could fit a town, but down where it looks like you couldn't even go further even with your character.
Meh, I've wasted $25 (bought the alpha to play early) on worse stuff, but this doesn't make me want to support the developers in the future.
Would you have enjoyed it more if you put in the work to get to town and then discovered the spoiler? Honestly, after 40 hours I realized that the best thing to do is watch the ending on youtube and then uninstall the game. Which is what I did. No regrets.
