Snake missing after vampire hunter

I completed the part with killing the hunter, got the medallion and what next? Snake is not appearing in the basement anymore. Thanks for the help

You don't remember why you needed the Medallion? Try the dungeon...

I didn't know I needed it, I never went below lv 5 in the dungeon. I've opened the door blocking level 11 but still no Snake, where is he? ;/

After completing lvl 11 dungeon, I restarted the game and 2 weeks later snake appeared in the basement as before.

For me, he disappeared until I hit the end of the lvl 10 dungeon (where the gate is). After interacting with the gate (without the amulet in my inventory), he appeared the next time as normal.
