Sell them to the blacksmith

You can't. He only buys the Rusty set you get from the start, but doesn't want the others...

I was going to ask about this too. Some tools can't be sold, which is what I prefer to do as I can't afford a sharpening stone. So just makes sense to be able to destroy them if we can't sell them, but can't even do that.

There's a guy north who will take your level 1 axe to chop trees.

What about at higher tier?

The issue is that it's cheaper to make new weapons than to just sharpen the old ones, and then you have tools stuck in your inventory unless you specifically make a chest to keep them in.

These are issues that the developer needs to address.

but it's not. Since people keep complaining about iron being finite, which may be a bug if the seam is running out, it's not cheaper and huge waste of energy and iron.

Not being able to sell your basic tools could somehow make sense as they could almost softlock you out of the game if you accidentally sell them. But than again with so many softlocks in the game and them breaking. That would not be it.

It isn't a huge waste of anything. It's quite cheap to make new ones really. If there isn't a source close by then you can buy iron from the smith in town. I haven't run out at all, and I'm quite a way into the game, and the problem isn't iron resources, the problem is my inventory being clogged if I don't waste resources on making a storage chest just for the tools that is, which really is a waste.

The dungeon has bookshelves and other furniture where you can store items (some are only sprites, with others you can interact, I think the first you encounter was interactive), although it most likely is not intended in that way, you can use it to store items you want to forget about. And considering whetstones, I don't have the problem of other people, money is like one of the things I care the least about at the moment (I have multiple gold coins) and I even stopped selling stuff - so I don't know why you would complain about 10 silver where you will have multiple repairs.

You can sell the steel shovel to the blacksmith. That is all you can do really.

There are other ways to make money in the game. Especially now there is infinate stone. You can sell stone, wheat, burial certs (farm carrots and spend time burning in mass, adds up real fast), wine, most foods, etc. You might want to dabble in other things!
