Is there a 'best' way to farm tech points? Is that what they're called? That's what i'm calling them.

Title, i'm trying to fill out as much as my tech tree as I can and wondering if there's a way of doing things I haven't figured out yet. Loving the game so far.

You mean that blue balls? The buff from pies sold by tavern keeper gives you extra 10 balls for EACH item you research on a research table. You can also give an iron axe to a guy top-right from village for a cake recipe which is not that hard to cook. The cake gives the same buff.
Or if you mean the green and red balls, they just accumulate while collecting and creating stuff.

Early game, clearning vines (at ruins etc) can give a decent amount of green. Crafting glass can give you blue. Red comes so easy because you're constantly crafting on the anvil/carpenter's table.

A bit later you will use the Study Table to study items to gain lots more points. My recommendation is save your first Science points (the resource the Study Table uses) to research body parts (blood, flesh, etc) which gives you a huge blue point boost. I found that was my first bottleneck and this helped me out.
