Your biggest money maker will be sermons. Focus on your graveyard and your church. It's easy to get lost in all of the other things that you can be doing, but really focus on these points. Once you are doing sermons, the church rating will increase your attendance, and the graveyard rating will increase how much people donate. Once this rating is well into the triple digits, you can expect to make about 15 gold per week on a sermon (unless this has been nerfed since alpha).

Fix the graveyard so you can open your church. Fix the church up a bit so you get more parishioners and make sure to give a sermon every Sunday. Sermons start to generate some pretty good free money at that point.

Until this one is better explained in-game, this post should be pinned. People doing stuff instead of focusing on first quest and Church leads to so many questions and frustration from players it can actually lower game reviws rating.

i like to burn the bodies then you get the burial certificate or grow food and craft it into something nice

If you know where to find the coal deposit and you have already unlocked iron pick (Pickaxe I), you can make a decent amount of money selling coals to the Blacksmith. I usually mine 500-600 coals once every couple of weeks and sell most of them. The Blacksmith will not have enough money to pay for it so I barter some for Iron Ingots. That way can unlock his next tier items really fast.

I only do this until I can make decent money from sermon.

I have heard a few people saying how they were getting more than a gold from a sermon but i'm only getting ~35 silver with a 300+ graveyard and gold combo sermon. Am i missing something or bugged?

What's your church rating? Do you have the church upgrade unlocked?

Besides sermons what is the best late game way of making money (can't do sermons because I need aristocratic papers and need money to become one).

I've seen, and posted in, about 5 threads all about making money.

It's easy, you just can't make TONES of money super fast.

First I always say, get a source of food ready, then start selling firewood to vendors to level them up.
Though you have to get the church open, else vendors dry up and won't restock supplies or money.

Its around 70 i think, upgraded once and trying to earn the 12 gold for next citizen level before upgrading it again. Its reallt slow going only earning 35 silver a week though.

the fastest and best way to make money is selling gold crates at the trade office.
when the merchant arrives you sell 5 of them, and at the end of the day when he leaves you can sell 5 more, giving you a total of 1gold and 10 silver weekly. which can only be topped by a max rating graveyard with all candles lit in the church. (1200 church rating and 108 faith gets you 1g26s)

it's annoying to juggle all those darn crates though
