Do you have to help Snake to finish the game?
Dude seems pretty evil, is all I'm saying...

The game advertised itself as having moral choices. Can you beat the game through a different path?

Snake is required, there's no moral choices only moral guilt if you don't like your own actions. There's only like two optional quests in the game and neither of them qualify as a moral choice, especially after all the stuff you are required to do.

That's pretty lame. Guess I'll just play the game as a moral graveyard keeper, just improving the church and graveyard without closure. Ah well.

story ends midsentence anyway, there's a few semi interesting plot lines, but all the major details get left up in the air and treated as a joke

the game also advertised itself as finished and not missing 10% of its content, including an entire tech tree, that is still listed on the wiki.

that would be one of two optional things I was referring to, not terribly impressive or interesting

I would not say, that there is missing content. The game is playable like it is. I admit, that there is a lot of potential for expansions, like the town, the mountain fortress, etc.

I do not understand, what this has got to do with the original question, if you've got to help Snake. So, yes, you need to finish nearly every quest in the game, otherwise you won't make it to 100 happiness-points with the 6 main characters you need to win the game.

i thought it was pretty obvious what it has to do with the original question.

since there is such a large chunk of content missing, the quest lines or the part where you have to make moral choices is barely implemented, if at all. the only instance that made it into the game before its premature release was the inquisitor questline where you can chose to hand him gerry. this doesnt even have any consequences, as this is probably still unfinished aswell. the inqusitor just refuses to take the skull.

there were originally obviously more quest options like these planned, and consequences for your choices, like at the very least losing friendship with gerry for trying to hand him over.

and a game being playable isnt the same as a game being finished.

there are so many lose ends and unpolished rough edges in this game, that its easy to lose count.

if you played a lot of videogames, youll quickly realize, that the developers set up crafting lines and quests everywhere that they never finished. there are mechanics missing that should have been in the game, like a hand cart that should allow you to transport large objects, like multiple wood logs, crates, corpses etc. the sprites of these carts are all over town and the games progression is set up in a way where you need it at some point or it becomes an insane chore. the occult tree to go with the upgradable dungeon is still missing etc. a lot of the dungeon area in the basement is dead room that was meant to be used.

they just implemented a freaking dev tool with the teleport stone as a quick and dirty solution to not having the time to implement a movement option like a horse or something similar that should have helped you get around the map.

there are resources like carved wood in this game that are craftable but serve no purpose. dead ends like these are a clear indicator for missing content. they were supposed to be used for something that didnt make it into the game.

even the merchants are completely inconsistent at what they buy from you. for example the smith only buys your steel shovel, but not your other steel tools? he sells and buys iron but only sells silver?

youd have to be ignorant or naive to not realize that this game is still in alpha. its bare bones playable, but not nearly finished.

I wasnt able to test it but near the end of the game I do think you can decide! but most people who get to this point of the game take the easy way cause they dont know there is a other way!

at this point of the game Snake will ask you to help him with the Ritual, and you have to get him one black thing, also at the same time the Inqisitor has a quest to get 3 black things! obviously every one will ofcourse choose the snake quest cause you will get the one thing first, most of the time! sadly I also did this and was disapointed cause i was also able to get the inqisitor the 3 black things after the snake quest! the following inquisitor quest was kinda broken cause you had to interrupt the Snake Ritual that was already done, after this the quest somehow disappears!

so the question for anyone who did the 3 items quest first! what did happend to the Ritual and End of the game!

all of which is irrelevant as you've been helping him a ton already, and it changes essentially nothing, just like declining to be the inquisitor's friend at the begining of the game
