Was wondering what the usual rate of confessions is because I just got my first on in like 3 in-game weeks and for the longest time I thought they broke or something.

You have to regularly check the church. 'They' come in, hang around for a bit nad then leave. If you're not in the church, you'll miss them

Oh wow, I haven't seen any of them wandering around. I'll spend more time in my church from now on.

You never actually see anyone come or leave. An icon let's you know someone's in the confessional and then it just disappears after a certain amount of time!

Aaaand, that is really baaad design. Not having any indication if someone is requesting your priestly services apart from personally checking inside the church when you have absolutely no business being there on weekdays. At least the confessionals give a really nice church rating, otherwise I wouldn't have even bothered building them.

And a visual indicator to go along with it. Like people actually entering the church.

In any case, the rate is really sporadic, and seemingly quite low as well.

I mean I can probably chalk it up to bad luck, but I did a gold-quality Prayer for Repentance, which says it's supposed to increase the inflow of confessions, and I didn't get a single confession that week despite that.

I'm not sure if they don't show up if you camp out in the church and only appear if you're not there, or if confessions "expire" if you don't go back and check on them from time to time, but it really feels like there aren't enough confessions to rely on them as anything but a minor source of faith with some free Stories.

I have a gold Combo prayer so faith isn't too much of an issue for me.

I'm convinced 'Repentance' might be broke, because I've observed no significant increase in traffic - unless they literally all came and went when i slept, which might be the problem with the confessional in general.

I'm pretty sure the way it works is like this: each day at midnight the game decides whether the confessional will be full. If it is, you have until the next midnight to check the church and collect your faith and story. If you don't look inside the church that day, it disappears.

If you have 2 confessionals (you should) and check them every single day, you can probably expect one or two stories a week out of them in my experience. If you check less often, you get less results, because the booths empty out each day whether you are there or not. Plus, it's highly random, so some weeks you might get nobody and others you might see 5 or 6 across the week.

Haven't tried the prayer for repentance personally, since I generally am not hurting for stories and you get better faith returns for less work with faith or combo prayers anyway.

I feel like I do look every day and have the repentance prayer and haven't had a confession in like 30 days. It's a real bummer.
