lost sold key

is there any way to get key that snake needs other then the Astrologer i think i destroyed or sold key i hope there is other then restarting game

This sounds strange, couz the key actually is undestroyable and you not be able to sell it aswell. Are you sure that it wouldn't in any of your chests?

So, you haven't the key from astrologer, right? It somehow disappeared from your stash.

Try if you can study it. Maybe its already modified OR you gave it to snake already.

I am going to ask here - cause my problem is similar - i didnt get the key or lost it. I know i talked to the poet - met the astrologer and went through this quest for the skull. I've met snake and i dont seem to have the key. Been going back and forth with the astrologer acting normal and selling me stuff- but no talking or chat option.

The astrologer is at 10 but clicking his "I need help" only gives the "Leave" reply.

No key anywhere else and it seems to be pretty much stopping my forward progress.

Oh and it's really hard to search/find info on this... keeper key... fer obvious reasons brings a lotta results. :0

When I went to study the key, I got the activated version AND the unactivated one, and now I'm stuck with a permanent undestroyable item...

I wanted to ask - due to no one else answering this and i'm trying to find out where my error is - did you already get into the church and try to get the journal? I've already opened all the bottom area and have talked to snake as well as gotten into the church and cleared out the desks. I got a ruined book - and i cant even look at it. Same with the note directions that snake gives me - i cant read it using the study desk. I suspect the error has to do with me not getting the key - so it blocks all of that off.

I was afraid I'd lost it too, but I hadn't gotten it yet. I'd talked to the Astrologer several times. Does he not offer the "quest" until after he gets the skull? Maybe I couldn't accept the "quest" because my bags were full? I don't know, but I have it now. Greatly relieved as I'm fairly well along in the game, didn't want to have to start over.

June 2023: Had Same Issue. Key lost after I "Researched" It.

There's two keys, the first one is a dark gray colored one. After you use it with some other things to research it at the study table, you get that key back and another golden key. The golden key is the one you need to give to Snake to open the gate. I don't think you need the gray one after that. At least I haven't ran into needing it yet and I'm a little past getting the journal for the Astrologer.
