Can't make Black Paint?

I read in other comments that you can mix ash and seed oil to make black paint at the alchemy workbench(tier 1). I bought seed oil from Dig but it's greyed out when I go to the alchemy bench. Is this a bug? Has the recipe changed?

The bottle of seed oil is like a bucket of water, you have to use it from the inventory menu to turn it into drops before you can use it in recipes

It's a little unintuitive, but you need to right click the "bottle of seed" oil first then left click use, this opens up the bottle and gives you the seed oil you need, similar to water buckets you get from the well.

Oh ok! That is very unintuitive but I guess I'm glad I get more for my money than I thought.

I have the workbench but don't see black paint, just how to make ink.
