Witch burning is realy disturbing
i can deal whit religion most of the time, but in this game its just too dark , i know that christians where burning a lot of innocent women allive in the dark ages, and know that we should not forget the past etc.etc.

but is this not supposed to be a game where you have fun instead of being reminded of the horrors of a religion?

wanted to buy the game untill i saw someone playing it from the begining and saw the witch burning scene , that was a huge turn off unfortunatly :steamsalty:

i'm just going to say this to get you more shook, but funny they actually put in a witch burning thing given that the majority of witches were in fact hung or beheaded so i'd like to see more options to dispose of witches or maybe a mechanic to implicate witches for coin :>

I really liked the scene personally, it really fleshed out the role of the cardinal in the story. You dont want to get on that mans bad side!! ...Unless you know you can really take him out of the picture whitout getting your hands *TOO* dirty :p

Yes, a game in which you carve off pieces of corpses to sell for profit, flay the skin from them, and dump them in the river because they rotted too far should be careful about having a witch-burning scene. Never mind establishing that you're living in a medieval setting and need to be careful, or you'll be the next one tied to the post.

Look on the bright side. The scene was quick, over in seconds instead of dragging on for several minutes, and there was no screaming or kicking.

It was effective, memorable, and a definite "oh, ****" moment to slap you in the face. This isn't Stardew Valley. You're planting corpses, not happy trees that sing to each other.

Becoming a graveyard keeper and performing an autopsy at the start of the game might be a dead giveaway that this isn't going to be the average sim game where you gift flowers to the girls.

I was disappointed that there was no screaming.

Turning away from the horrors of this world won't solve anything. Facing them, learning from them and accepting how fkd up humanity was/is makes difference. Grow up and get over this...

Kill all the Witchs :D :D

It's made for an impact. It works.
In fact in my opinion they are giving us a "soft" version where you don't hear the witch scream.

Heinrich Kramer would approve of this game. Witchcraft is criminal!

I agree it's not a pleasant scene, and I'm kinda hoping we get the option to help some of the witches escape the inquisitors torture chambers once we get access to the town. Now in alpha we can help the witch in the swamp at least.

I hope we get to run live experements on them for science points.

I would suggest to make both parties happy, they make a cartoony backstory for the witch, as this game has no problems making fun of other issues like the flat earth society.
