Graveyard Keeper

Graveyard Keeper

Statistiche:
DLC Story Thoughts (Spoilers)
Curious to what others think of the added story to the village/NPC's.
(Please don't read if you don't want spoilers, I am not spoiler tagging the entire post, your loss for ignoring the title)

I got through the story that Horadric ignores Chain a little or not give her the attention she needs (then again being immortal will do that to you) because he feels he needs to focus on the tavern to help give back to the village he himself caused to be where it is now. Clear he still regrets what he did but still loves Chain very much.

Krezvoid seems to be down he no longer has a reason to fight/guard stuff and admits he hates what he makes because it is just for the tavern, he must miss the old days and has some little hate to his brother for this even if he did save him.

(Note: it is clear they all remember the past due to you can ask them at the end who the previous graveyard keepers were and they play it off as if they read it)

I kinda still like Gerry but same time have new hatred for him and feel like the story just ignores what he did, you have no reaction or choice to it and Gerry just goes back to doing nothing which is a shame because he can be fun.
Would of been better IMO if that one floating body that didn't go over the bridge and was just left there was him.
Though maybe it was Yorick -shrugs-

Little sad the donkey got nothing added, was expecting him to have an item, sure they could of gotten him to stop on one delivery if you triggered the quest for him but alas he is still a slave to our business.

The ending makes more sense though, the god as mad they wanted to disobey him for love, meaning they are greedy to him. So makes sense the ending you summon your love there but you are both stuck in that time with each other to soon suffer like everyone else who no longer seem happy with their outcome. Still come unanswered questions but oh well that is with almost every game these days.

What are your likes/hate/thoughts on it (so far or for those who have completed the DLC)

Overall I did enjoy it and nice to see some characters get fleshed out.

1 question... i'm not shure if i've finished dls story or not. You watch last video from the past and Garry gets back to the morgue... that's it?

Yep, which I find disappointing. Like, oh hey I did all this stuff, welp time to just forget it happened and return to the morgue. He doesn't even wear a crown or any of the treasure from the chest which would of been a little nice IMO.
The story was more in depth and twisty turny than I expected. I wasn't expecting that much since the base game seemed like the story just existed to explain why you're a graveyard keeper when you die. I felt like the story in the dlc existed to take us along on a journey so I liked it.

Gerry was never a great guy, so finding out he was the main villain and basically ruined everything kinda felt right, but I definitely do like him a lot lot less than I used to. What happened to Lucius? Maybe I didn't pay enough attention to the other characters.

I never did figure out who Bella was until the quest popped up to talk to the farmer about his wife. That was the best part of the dlc for me. I loved her character and her demise was genuinely sad. I even tried to salvage her body. I still might turn her into a zombie and have her run a vineyard (very slowly) next to Mr. 2 brain, no blood, no fat, already had a gold injection before you got his body, graveyard keeper. He's running a hops and I think I'll have Bella run some grapes.

My second favorite part was Dig telling you he was just faking being a psycho. I had suspicions that he was just pretending, but it was a relief to hear him say it! I wonder what he really thinks about you buying land in his name. Although at this point, he probably doesn't care.

Now that the content is over I really really wish we had the option to build up the town again. I want to build a new beautiful house for Dig! I want to fix up Horadric's Tavern. I would love it if we could fix all the ruins around the map, that would be so rewarding.

My biggest mechanic critique of the tavern running is that figuring out what food is appropriate for what occasion feels like shots in the dark. I think I probably missed some clues? Maybe? Or maybe I haven't gone to enough taverns and events in my life? I'm not entirely sure. I do wish there were slightly more clues about what to serve at each event. I thought high quality food would be appropriate at a festival, but that didn't seem to be true.

My overall opinion about Stranger Sins is very positive. I liked the story, mostly. I liked learning more about the characters around town! I had a lot of fun running a tavern and putting on events, enough that I'll keep playing it for a bit more until I'm tired of running a tavern. AND if I remember correctly the devs said that graveyard keeper originally started as a tavern management game and then turned into graveyard keeper, so I think it's awesome to get to run a tavern after all.

Gerry's fate seems appropriate. Doomed to exist forever a a disembodied skull.

I guess Digs doesn't care because it is getting back at his adopted son who I assume hates with a passion even if he did save him near the end.
One word. Lucius. Where is he, what happened to him? I still haven't played The Game of Crone, but I feel like he will reappear. Plus the whole implication that City would be the focus of second game.
