...sooo, I wouldn't give up hope yet. Most characters can end up doing odd things if you save precisely when their scripts tell them to do something; travel from x to y, from y to z, or from z to x, etc. So, despite the likelihood that you were waiting on Snake for something important, I would keep busy for another week, save around the afternoon of Merchant's day (Greed - brown), and wait near the dungeon entrance for him to return - assuming you've progressed through the beginning of Snake's quest-line (>10 Happiness). If he still no-shows during the entirety of Snakes days (Envy - green), then you indeed might've hit a serious snag...
Have you solved your problem?
If not, let us know we will try to figure out what is going on with your Snake.
I read on another thread how to solve an issue with the portal showing two different days. Presently I have Envy/Snakes day highlighted, and was on the Astrologer's day, and recorded footage of the day changing... moved onto the day we can do sermons, but Snake's day stay lit as well (I'm so sorry I keep wanting to call them the wrong day so I didn't memorize anything but "Moonday" for Astrologer, "Taurus" for Snake, and "Sunday" for the day the churchman shows up.
