[BUG] Clotho Quest - Help

Update:

So after looking at the version patch notes, this was apparently fixed in 1.201. The GOG version of this game won't update past 1.200. So I'm a few patches behind the steam community apparently.

I'll contact support at GOG to see what's going on, but this discussion I think should be closed. If I get the game updated and I still run into this issue I'll bring it back up.

Hey guys,

I'm wondering if this bug has been talked about or if there is a fix or workaround for it.

I'm on the Clotho quest: "Help the witch restore her memory." I haven't given her the Cauldron, instead I have a Health Potion.

This causes her to go through her dialogue about remembering who she is and where she put her cauldron. The task completes and my character freezes like he's still in dialogue; the music continues to play and animations for the game continue. There is no game crash, I just can not move.

Extra Info:

- GOG version of the game - updated to latest version (1.200).

- Restarted with the same bug happening several times.

- I gave her a silver quality pumpkin to finish a task prior to finishing this quest.

Give her the cauldron, a bee and a life powder instead of the Health Potion.

That was something that I was going to try, but I wanted to see if there was any way of getting around this issue first. Since I already put the effort into the health potion and not the cauldron. From the lack of responses I guess there isn't? I wonder if it's an issue with just my save or with the game itself.

This bug is believed to be fixed long ago. What version of your game is? Actual is 1.204.

It says version 1.200 on the main menu/ GOG launcher. GOG doesn't update past that, do the devs not update the game on all platforms they sell on at the same time?

I gave her the health potion one version ago, worked for me.

I have no clue if something in the new version screwed it up, or if I did something in my game to break it. I honestly don't want to start a new save file and grind back up to that point to test it. I'll give her the cauldron at some point and hope that doesn't bug out on me. For now I'll do the 200 other tasks waiting for me.

Might as well keep the health potion, plus the three more you will get from Clotho from completing the quest. You're likely going to need them soon enough.

Just hit this bug yesterday on the current Steam version. Unfortunately I already saved so I can't progress the game anymore until it's fixed again.

Wow, was not expecting to get a notification from this old post haha.

I haven't played this game in a couple years but I do remember the patch coming through to GOG and things being fine for me afterwards.

I'm not sure if the same problem you're having is the freezing or if you just can't continue the quest itself.

You can finish the quest in one of two ways according to the wiki:

1. Bring her 1x Health Potion
2. Bring her 1x cauldron, 1x bee, and 1x life powder
