...any chance you have zombies up and running? - have you tried making a Zombie Alchemy Decomposer and testing that?
EVIL Shenanigans - I've not tried rebuilding the hand mixer, and I haven't built a Zombie Alchemy Decomposer so I'll try that, thanks!
...cuz this is still relatively bizarre - remaking the hand mixer shouldn't have changed (or temporarily fixed) anything - I still suggested it merely because it made sense as a step in troubleshooting. Curious if you fooled around with what you have stored locally, or kept track of their quantities?
...the zombie workstation will only work on things you've previously decomposed, so I'm not sure how well it'll work as a permanent replacement if you're having trouble decomposing things in the first place. I was just curious if it was working as intended.
@Laydee - you might have better luck with the alchemy mill ... might also share some step by step screenshots as a last resort, if only to try to 'nail down' what's going on. If it's truly a bug, its a very strange one, that no one else has reported, which is why I'm as interested as I am.
I may know what you did because it sounds exactly like something I've done more than once. When you went into the "choose what ingredient to use" panel to change the item being processed, please describe your exact actions. Because if you hit Esc at the wrong time, you revert to the previous item and that can make you think it is not accepting the new ingredient you want to process. This can be especially confusing when you're trying to rapidly process a lot of items and lose your groove/zen/pattern/whatever you want to call it.
