The Coin Game

The dark side of The Coin Game
WARNING: Lots of overthinking here, post for entertainment purposes only. Also would advise against reading it right before sleep. MatPat, if you use this post for a video, you better credit me and link to my channel Jagielski Gaming or I swear...

So played it last weekend at my friend's house and if you think about it, the game is really dark both literally (seriously, do something about lighting, there are no nights THAT dark unless there's no moon) and figuratively.

For starters, aside of yourself, there are no humans in sight. Even passengers on the bus are robots. Rich Uncle Phil may as well not exist and be just a computer program, since there's no note of him aside of the tiny message in your smartwatch that apparently has a gps (more on that later).

Given there are no humans in sight (not even among the clients of the places you visit) you may be just the last human alive and are being kept as a pet by bunch of robots. You're on an island, which is very convenient because you can't run away and you're being tracked by the smart watch you wear so the bots know where you are at any given time.

NOTHING about the game makes any real sense. I could probably understand some rich person paying a small arcade owner to set all games to freeplay for some kid's birthday (a kid whose parents are nowhere to be found), but literal money machine? Not to mention that there's a much bigger (and IMO better) arcade, I mean the UFO point, that wouldn't be so easily swayed by some rich guy's money, even if the rich guy was Bezos himself. And they also got a money machine and you can even use tickets from both places interchangibly.

The games aren't also rigged to get as much money from you as possible meaning money isn't that important of a resource here, which implies that every prize, food item, etc. is manufactured and transported in a fully automatic manner.

It just doesn't make sense.

You know another thing that doesn't make sense? The bus. Not only you can almost instantly call the bus even if it was on the other side of the island, meaning there has to be hidden garage near every bus stop that has bus drive off on demand while other drives back to the garage after a stop, but also it keeps driving on and on without the need of any fuel, meaning that the bus has to be electric and the road is inductive.

Another thing that doesn't make sense about bus is that there's a stop literally labeled "home" meaning that whatever was built on the island was built for you with purpose of entertaining and pampering you so you don't have time to even think about rebelling against your robot overlords that are everywhere. You supposedly have parents but they are no where to be found. One of Larry's lines even say "Where's your parents" as if it were taunting you.

There's also another thing that points to the theory. There seem to be no places for humans to sit or rest, but there are charging stations for bots that looks like comically big extension cords.

Just some food for thought. Sleep well!

Your going to fit right in here. ;)

The bus and bots runs on new batteries that were invented in 2030 that never discharge. They are charged by simply moving. Yup you read that right. The mere movement jiggles the cell structure enough to excite the atoms and then that energy is converted into Joules (Watts).

Its all very complicated and a bunch of ugly math and numbers. I dont want to explain it here as I signed a NDA and cant share the tech until 2037. (7 Years for a patent)

Side note: The 24 hour day/night cycle will be done and released in a couple days. ;)

Interesting what you can spy in a random thread...
Does this mean survival, too?

No. The next build is a maintenance build and contains mainly graphical stuff and other things that need to be finished before Survivor mode. Its taking longer than I planned.

Gives me some Truman show vibes, especially the car accidents + military on the bridges, though when you think about it a world built "just for you" is actually kinda sweet and comfy
