I don't understand why the summon limit was reduced. He feels so weak now, and if his price is still 2000 points, he is over priced. Personally I feel like infantry bot should not be able to summon other analysis bots or raptors, but only summon the basic arena bots like sword bots or hammer bots while keeping the max 2 summons limit.
If the level is too hard with too many infantry bots, that should not be an enemy issue, but a level issue. This line in the update post bothers me way too much than it should, "One Diamond level in particular with only 3 Infantry Bots on average ate up 2.81 clones before being defeated!" That's not a diamond level, that would be a titanium level since that would be worth 6000 points. Why not nerf that level to 2 infantry bots to make it an actual diamond level? I can understand why the infantry bot nerf was done, but there should be more consideration into the levels themselves to see if they are too hard due to the kind of enemies in it.
And the 2 to 1 summon limit? I don't get that because Infantry bot didn't ever have a summon limit, at least not one capped at 2. I've seen a single Infantry spawn far more then just 2 bots. Whether its a bug or something I don't know, but it previously didn't exist in the game. But considering that it now has a cap at 1, its virtually worthless. It spawns one bot from its tier, which is pretty much worthless, pretty much anyone can win a 1v1 with any bot in the entire game, and on top of that Analysis is the weakest bot in direct combat. It's entire game plan is to try and hover out of your reach and occasionally knock you down or flame breath. Thats it. At least Mind Space has arrows that mean you can't turn your back on it. In close quarters anything Infantry spawns can just be killed instantly, or now you can kill Infantry itself.
Infantry was a little bit tedious, but nothing worth nerfing it over, especially since they and their summons are always the number one and primary threat in any level they appear in, with minimum if any real support from other bot.
Yeah, I think overall we had seen a lot of comments of frustration around the Infantry Bot, so wanted to make it a bit less annoying and de-emphasize its impact a little bit.
The 2 to 1 change refers to how many robots it can have active before spawning another one btw. As soon as its spawn dies it will still make new robots quickly.
Could see changing its point values to reflect the changes in the future perhaps! Will look at the impact in wins/death ratios on levels featuring the enemy and think about it.
Btw while I have you, I've noticed that bots can turn invisible without being spawned by Infantry bot. It's always a flame raptor, and it must have a rider. The rider will just hang in the air while the Raptor is completely invisible, including its flame breath.
Probably more important, its indestructable too. You can flame breath in front of you, have absolutely nothing happen, and then get tail whipped halfway across the arena instantly after. I'm fairly sure its also immune to arena hazards but I'm not certain. It seems to just despawn at a certain point. For co-op players that seems to be in roughly the amount of time it takes for them to take two team revives out. Might also be possible for laser raptors, but I haven't seen it. I'd guess the rider is what causes it, since it's always specifically a raptor that would have a rider.
