In terms of PvP: The hit-reg doesn't feel good. If you can't stand someone killing you from far away, or if you clearly miss your attack but it someone kills someone else a second later, this might not be the game for you. High ping players usually don't have an advantage, but you'll struggle to hit each other. There's only official servers, no community servers. There's a lot of customization for multiplayer. You can pick your skins, color of your skin, voice, and emotes for multiplayer. A lot of them are unlocked through achievements.
There is only 2 PvP gamemodes, Private duels which is for friends only, and LBS which is a battle royale mode. Would there be more added? Who knows, there's not a public roadmap for the future of this game, all of it is just speculation.
I don't have answers for all your questions since I'm not too involved in the multiplayer aspect of this game, but hopefully this is enough to fill you in.
I think I am going to wait and see how the state of the servers and the game in general is going to evolve.
