Chapter five review but not really, it's more a chance for me to vent about the insane mode.

Firstly, I did enjoy this chapter on regular mode. and I think it was a good (albeit underwhelming) ending to the game. But still good. I beat the chapter on hard just to get a feel for it. Then I proceeded to insane. I figured the hallway before the boss room would be an issue (it was) but I managed past it.

My issue is with the final boss. the second time you fight him. I don't know if it was random and I lucked out or if this was intentional. But the final boss (should you die the first time, which you will) has you start as a mark one spear bot. With no extra lives.

I just need to vent because this is the stupidest thing the game has thrown at me. I've managed through all the stupid, waded through trial and error like a champ. through each of the four chapters insane modes I hath been victorious. And then the final boss with explosive one hit attacks wants me to fight him as the worst version of the worst bot in the game. I... I don't... I mean i spent a good hour and a half to beat him. If I was given sword or hammer bots as my starting bot. that'd be fine. I didn't need the extra lives, nor did I need some fire based unit. Just... anything but the spear with it's god awful hit detection. why the spear? why a mark 1 spear!?

I mean, I managed to beat him because the game bugged. I didn't even do it legit. he did this attack where he throws both weapons together, it's supposed to do a shock wave and send you back, but instead, the screen juttered a bit and suddenly he was dead. I ain't complaining. I got the achievement, I got the skin (which is boring to look at in my opinion and not really worth all this hassle) but that being said, that isn't a legit win. Now, not to toot my own horn, but I think I'm pretty damn good at this game. and insane mode or not. this was beyond just difficult and crossing the line by a wide margin into douchy and unfair. There's hard challenges that skirt the line of unfair or just difficult and this was very much a latter situation.

Anyway. thanks for letting me vent. I did enjoy this game. and when you fight the emperor on any other mode without these weird stipulations, it's actually allot of fun. so... I guess don't be like me and play on insane mode. and if you do, be warned all who go at this chapter on insane mode. It was not pleasant.

(also, just to tack on further... complaints. I don't know about y'all, but I am very unhappy that there's no uranium archer skin in the final product. harrumph. )

its insane mode and the final boss. it should be stupidly hard. Insane mode means its going to be INSANE. and combined with the fact that you're fighting the final boss that enslaved humanity. plus its his last push against you. It should be an extreme challenge to beat him

Probably so you could hit the areas between the armor and give the choice of sparing the little armor bots

If you want, you could wait a bit for a patch to come out. Insane difficulty is going to be tweaked so whatever robot you enter mindspace with, you stay as that robot for the final fight, even if you die and respawn during that fight.

Wouldn't that be nice. cause entering as a fire sword bot or mark 3 hammer only to get relegated to mark 1 spear. I mean really that's my only issue. this is actually one of the easier insane mode chapters. it's just that last battle is a bit much.

Don't worry, in case you have not seen the last patch, that issue is now fixed. No more respawning as a spear1.

i have something to say i had to say because this is a venting place (as far as i know) how completly stupid it is, defeating wave after wave of level 5 robots and getting (sad music here) a STUPID SKIN FOR MULTIPLAYER. no special upgrade or acctual impacting thing i get the skin of the MAIN ANTAGONIST OF THIS GAME not to mention even though chapter 5 is chock full of lev 5 robots, i get chopped by some wimpy robot missing a leg

and than i get greeted by the you lose screen and feel like smashing my expensive computer with a hammer (that six stack of diamonds in lava feeling from minecraft) also i dont have the patiance to "get gud" i want the kickbot 2 skin because it acctually looks good

I feel you dude. My game is buggy. I don't use kick as a means of killing enemies but I'd say I've killed around 200 ish enemies using kicks. Enough for the skin. But the game has only counted about 30 of those. I've replayed the kick only challenge but nope. doesn't add up. I've basically given up on getting that one which sucks cause like you said, it looks cool.

Also as I said. really disappointed that there isn't a mark four uranium archer skin anywhere in the game. It's the only remaining humanoid robot that doesn't have a skin. is playing as the emperor cool? yes. kinda, eh. the model looks weird. I just... hope they add in a new single player challenge. I'm thinking something about the spaceships... 10 rounds then you get the skin. I don't know.

the emporor on insane should like a cuphead boss. Fast and unpredictable, with a lot more trial and error.
